◎简　　介

高进（周润发饰）前来香港与赌魔决斗，怎料刚抵港，便被南哥（杨泽霖饰）追杀，结果堕入陷阱而失忆。幸得刀仔（刘德华饰）和其女友珍（王祖贤饰）相救，他们把高进带回家中疗养，发现高进精通赌术后，兴奋不已，想利用他来挣大钱，却反而因为高进发挥不稳亏了钱。
高进妻子遭其堂弟高义醉酒后污辱杀害。高义进而联手南哥，设计谋害高进，四处搜罗进的藏身地点，前往追杀。逃亡之时，高进翻车受伤，竟恢复了记忆——但是却怎样也记不起失忆期间的事情。刀仔提醒进，高义并非好人，但进却毅然蒙在鼓里，不知危难当头。

本片由王晶执导，周润发，刘德华，王祖贤担钢主演。本片几名人物的性格均相当突出，情节设计一波三折，妙趣横生。周润发所饰演的赌神并不是单纯地流露霸气，在经历了从受伤、到失忆、到恢复记忆、再为爱人复仇的人生道路之后，周润发完成了令“赌神”由神到人再成为神的升华。因为周润发在此片中酣畅淋漓的表演，使此片一举创造了当年港产片的最高票房记录，也带动了港片赌片的追捧与兴盛。

.Plot.Do San (the God of gamblers) is a legendary gambler helped by his supernatural abilities. He undertakes to help a friend pay a debt by beating his friend‘s advisory at the card table.
